The environment variable SAS_BIGQUERY_DEFAULT_NUMERIC_FORMAT does not recognize when an invalid character format is specified. Rather than returning an error that indicates that the format is not valid, the numeric data in a BigQuery table might be displayed as garbage, as shown below:
To ensure that invalid formats are recognized, use the data set option DEFAULT_NUMERIC_FORMAT.
